IMPORTANT TAX NOTICE !!
The IRS will be sending important tax letters to taxpayers in December 2021- January 2022.Taxpayers should watch for the following three letters from the IRS. Put these letters with your W-2's and other tax documents and bring them in when you get your taxes done. The information on these letters are needed to accurately prepare your 2022 income taxes.
1) IRS Letter 6419 - Total Advance Child Tax Credit Payments: If you have children and received Advance Child tax Credits in 2021, this letter will tell you the exact amount that you received. SAVE THIS LETTER!
2) IRS Letter 6475:- Your 2021 Economic Impact Payment (EIP) : Anyone who received the 3rd Stimulus Payment last year, beginning in March 2021 ($ 1,400 each for taxpayer, spouse and every dependent), or a portion if your income was above the AGI thresholds), will receive this letter that will tell you exactly how much you received. We need this letter to reconcile the 3rd EIP Payment on your tax return. SAVE THIS LETTER !!
3) IRS form 1095-A - Health Insurance Marketplace Statement: If you received subsidized health insurance from the Health Insurance Marketplace in 2021, you will receive this document from the Marketplace. SAVE THIS LETTER !!
STILL WAITING FOR YOUR 2019-2020 REFUNDS ??
Millions of other tax payers are in the same boa.t, if that makes you feel any better. As of June 25th, 2021 the IRS had a backlog of 16.7 million 2019 and 2020 individual tax returns that require MANUAL processing by agency employees. Some of these are paper returns and others were suspended during electronic processing and need further review. Unfortunately, there is not much that a taxpayer or their tax preparers can do about these delays. But the are reasons for some hope! The IRS expects to complete the processing of the 2019 Forms 1040 that were mailed in sometime this summer and continue to process the 2020 tax returns.
Please be patient and DO NOT CALL THE IRS or AMERICAN TAX SERVICE as there is nothing we can do to hurry up the process.
